Rooibos
Red is the new black! Rooibos (Aspalanthus linearis) is sometimes called ‘red bush tea’, and is pronounced roy-bus. Rooibos has many health benefits, including that it is naturally caffeine free. making it a healthy choice for young and old!

Rooibos has more antioxidants than green or black tea and a range of trace minerals and is low in tannin (less than 5%)
Rooibos tea can be drunk either plain or with sugar and milk according to the consumer’s taste.

Because of its popularity, the Rooibos plant is now extensively cultivated, in its indigenous Cedarberg Mountains is South Africa. In late summer or early autumn, the plants are harvested, cut into short lengths, moistened, bruised, allowed to ferment, and dried in the sun to produce red bush tea.
“Red Bush” is brewed like ordinary tea to make South Africa’s most popular hot beverage.
