25 Years of Art Of Tea

The Art of Tea is a small business based in Tasmania, Australia. We were established in 2000, and are now one of the oldest and largest tea companies in Australia!

2000

Salamanca Market

From humble beginnings, the Art of Tea began selling just 12 different varieties of tea at Salamanca Market, in Hobart, Tasmania every Saturday. The business quickly grew, as locals and people travelling from all over Australia and beyond were keen to enjoy quality loose leaf tea.

As The Art of Tea began at Salamanca Market, our best selling flavoured green tea is named after this famous Market.
2007

Purchased by Samantha Brown

In 2007 whilst on maternity leave, Samantha Brown purchased the Art of Tea stall at Salamanca Market and her love of leaf tea, the Market, and being able to make a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing began. This was indeed the perfect brew for Samantha, all whilst managing a young baby!
2017

Introducing our Rainbow Blend

Our core business values are Caring, Being Genuine, Relationships, Health and Making a Difference. In 2017 The Art of Tea sponsored the LGBTIQA+ International Tennis Tournament at the Hobart Tennis Centre.

We created a blend as a gift to the players, at the time named "LGBTea". After the marriage equality vote, we renamed the blend "Rainbow Blend" and made it part of our core range of tea.
2017-2020

Battery Point Bouteaque

Our quaint, signature store in the historic suburb of Battery Point offered teas to tourists and locals alike. Sadly the store closed in early 2020 due to COVID
